Does Sov lack basic social skills?

Seems so, seems she can't adapt to new situations, and if something remotely challenging arises, she goes off in a strop. I don't think she knows what the social norms are.

Stu 16-01-2010 09:50 PM

She has certain social skills. Like those necessary for being able to sit on a bike with one hand leaning against the shop window owned by the Asian dude, the other hand holding a Benson & Hedges.

PaulyJ 16-01-2010 09:52 PM

Wait a minute now, the example you give is not a good one to show your point because, to walk out when you are getting angry, and people pointing the finger at you and you feeling this is not fair, surely is the sensible thing to do, if she felt she was in the wrong and still walked out, then you would have a point but, i think she did the adult thing.

Stacey. 16-01-2010 09:53 PM

maybe she is used to getting her own way, so what? ;)
Tbhh, its not lack of Social Skills, just different environment and different surroundings that she has to get used to. :)
her attitude is good  not stroppy, just good.
we NEED someone to stand up to Vinnie, because no one else seems to be

What Chav has any social skill?

setanta 16-01-2010 09:55 PM

Nah, she's just a self-absorbed little whelp.

Yes, but she gets worked up over nothing. She is unable to register helpful advice.

WOMBAI 16-01-2010 09:56 PM

Agree! Very poor social skills! She really doesn't mix well with people she considers better than her. She would never admit that - but her insecurity in that group is obvious - so she gets rebellious - as she doesn't know how else to deal with it! She simply can't express herself in a coherent manner - like most!

MusicMan 16-01-2010 09:57 PM

I thought that at the very beginning, she didn't seem to know how to make conversation properly, and during Vinnie's birthday party thingy, everyone was round the table singing etc and she was sitting on the sofa on her own. It's a little sad :(
Although I found this quite funny: Sov was halfway through singing Happy Birthday with food in her hand, gives up and starts eating :) Love that clip :)

I suppose this is the 'entertainment' her fans keep alluding to! lol:joker:

InOne 16-01-2010 10:01 PM

Anyone would think she was 17...

RealityTVisGreat 16-01-2010 10:06 PM

Just remembered, her reaction to vinnie's 'speech' or maybe sermon, was to say 'yeah I get it' wander into the garden and say something about sucking her tits!
Not my idea of entertainment, or indeed a very watchable h/mate
If she had stood her ground and told Vinnie what she thought, it would have been far better!

I doubt she'd be able to find the words to tbh.

Yeah, she is a dumb bitch.

PaulyJ 16-01-2010 10:21 PM

I agree ideally standing her ground and defending yourself is better, however i counted 4 people besides Vinnie that clearly agreed with Vinnie against her, and the rest we're shtum on the subject, that equals a gang mentality i would say and i think i would of walked out given the odds. If she had of argued would she of won?, made things better?

I actually started to like her when she did the dance after surviving eviction, Sov may not argue when she is in the minority, but will Vinnie and his supporting cast argue with the majority viewers who may appear to of come down on the side of Sov in this issue, (referencing the way the bullies backed off Freddie after he kept being saved by the public vote)

We shall see

Well it was not a great move by Sov to do the dance. She must have know Heidi was quite well liked, all she did she pat her on the back. People don't take kindly to that gloating kind of manner, it was only an eviction for god sake. She is ridiculously self-centered. If she acts that way on the outside, god help her.

Door swings both ways, like Sisoq said she has isolated herself, not being a team player. The house is not a normal place, it law of the jungle and strong survive and if she wants to be in the firing line, she can only hope for the public to save her. Being brash and bragging about surviving may work for an American audience but not a British one. Unless you are a Chav.

The rest got used to it, why can't she?

PaulyJ 16-01-2010 10:37 PM

Taken away from the context yes it was a stupid move to dance smuggly, but she'd been written off by the dominant part of the group, she knew it when Ivana commiserated with her telling her she would see her outside, i think Vinnie said your not safe yet after the first eviction. imagine you're being told you lost before the votes are cast, that's got to make you feel like screaming haha **** you hasn't it.

I guess, but, it was the way she acted before you know, with the corn beef, she is not using common sense. Usually there is something inside you that tells you 'Oh, this is gonna piss people off if I do it'. She does not seem to have that though

She is not that young. And you have to have some degree of manners...

Smithy 16-01-2010 10:50 PM

yes, all she does is smoke and complain

The public are always saving troubled Hm's wether accuratly because we see more detail being the fly on the wall or inacuratly because we don't see everything that happens.

either way if Sov's in for that kind of ride as things stand i will be on her side

I would dis-agree and say the house is a very normal place, and i can relate to 90 pcnt of what happens in their because of it's normalness, The law of the jungle is alive and kicking but it is your job as a viewer to vote as your concience see's fit, reward the good evict the bad, i won't be rewarding Mr Vinnie Jones.

24 is not the age to be acting like that.

Good point, if I was the outsider in that house and I would be "in your face bitches"

Have you seen that show on BB3 "The Worlds toughest parents" i think it's called

The teenagers that go to other parts of the world and resist all attempts to be told what they can and cant do by these strange new people trying to be their parents. Maybe she has a bit of that in her.

Like 12, you're pretty immature for your age really!!!

Yeah saw that. But she is famous, she has made money in her time and she is 24, you got to grow out of it sometime...

BB_Eye 16-01-2010 11:06 PM

The fact that Sov has been the only person to stand up to Vinnie shows up the rest of the house for their lack of social skills... not to mention basic assertiveness.

Deliverance 16-01-2010 11:08 PM

the girl has to be given a chance really. Her reactions are normal enough for one her age albeit she is a bit immature. But to be equally fair the HM's age gap is an issue. I imagine she feels pretty alone by this as the youngest person in the house. The word chav has been thrown about a lot as well which is unfair as well.

If one is treated in this manner then one will act accordingly. Vinnie is incredibly dominating and has the support of others in the house that are his age or older. He did single here out over the food issue rather than handling it more diplomatically.

Poor old Sov is kind of an outsider and alone age wise and generation gap wise. Kind of normal for her to rebel in the way she is doing I think.

InOne 16-01-2010 11:10 PM

Yes but she has lead herself into these situations, she is 24, the 'she is a youngster' thing does not wash. It is appauling behaviour from a 24 year old.
