EMO avvy\'s

Why do so many people have the "EMO" avatars.. this includes SMC, sropz and fangz... are they for the purpose of getting at a certain FM??

ThaGazBoi 13-03-2006 06:28 PM

I want one, There cool!

EugeneSully 13-03-2006 06:31 PM

yeah! i just wondered why it happened to be on the same evening, that the same people against one "partially emo" FM... lol

ThaGazBoi 13-03-2006 06:41 PM

^^ I think i know who u mean.

sol 13-03-2006 07:18 PM

sorry im behind, what's EMO?

Fangz 13-03-2006 07:33 PM

Emo is...well it's hard to explain.

It's a subculture similar to goth, but very watered down.
Emos listen to nu-metal, emo, and those annoying pop-punk bands like Good Charlotte and Simple Plan.

They write sad songs and poetry, mope around being miserable, and harp on about everything that's wrong with their lives and refusing to be happy.

They wear certain clothing, converse, get certain hair-cuts, wear more eyeliner than is sensible and so on.

Legend 13-03-2006 07:38 PM

S'ok sol. I didn't know either lol. I had an idea but didn't realise they were depressevies.

Why not just find the nearest rope now?

the perfect defination. Not trying to stereotype but I disliked everyone of them that I have met and it's not because I'm jealous of them or anything. There's nothing to be jealous for!! They hate so many people (most of which i have seen) and live in a subliminal culture called MYSPACE which is pretty sad and overrated.

Fangz 13-03-2006 07:41 PM

Well, not everyone who dresses emo and listens to emo music is depressed, obviously, but I'd say a certain FM fits the stereotype fairly well, though I've met worse.

'Oh Fizz, listen to my poem about suicide and self-harm!'

EugeneSully 13-03-2006 07:47 PM

lol! and stupid depressing names like "she said, if its going to end, it might as well be my fault"... or "let the rain fall... i dont care"...

so ****ing degrading!

Fangz 13-03-2006 07:50 PM

'The sting of razorblades across my flesh...' 'The sound of my heart shattering'
'No one understands the pain I feel...'

Oh my god, I sound like one of them!

this really needs to be an anti emo thread

Dan_ 13-03-2006 07:54 PM

Do they have much reason to be depressed though? Typing suicidal poems and listening to songs filled with misery on their exspensive ipods and computers that mummy and daddy got them, turn on a light sometime jeez.

It's precisely that that gets to me.
Gah, this thread is making me want to throttle someone, preferably someone listening to MCR and cutting themselves.

EugeneSully 13-03-2006 08:03 PM

don't goths and emos both cut themselves etc and have aloit in common

Only the most horribly cliched goths around. The emos and goths sort of cross over sometimes.

Emos are like the most cliched goths around with no taste in music, clothes or style.

Most goths I know hate emos as much as anyone, it's like emos took the bad stuff from the gothic subculture, made it worse, and made it into a whole new subculture.

I've never met an emo who can laugh at emo jokes, and never met a goth who won't laugh at a goth joke, and I've met plenty of both.

EugeneSully 13-03-2006 08:11 PM

do chavs laugh at chav joke lol?

lily. 13-03-2006 08:11 PM

Goths = good
Emos = bad

^In my experience of meeting both^

chavs are too stupid to understand the chav jokes

EugeneSully 13-03-2006 08:13 PM

some goths are bad. some emos can be good. some chavs are ok.

EugeneSully 13-03-2006 08:14 PM

but goths were like the originals but yet dont give a **** despite how many people they claim to hate them

Well that's the weird thing. I've met stereotypical chavs who deny being chavs and claim to hate chavs, and I've met stereotypical emos who deny being emos and claim to hate emos.

I've never met a goth who didn't realize they were a goth.

(Well, apart from the ones who come up with **** like 'I'm not a goth, I'm wearing black because I am in mourning for the human race' ones, but they're pretentions little ***** who get mocked by other goths.)

EugeneSully 13-03-2006 08:17 PM

so we're judged by appearance and not tastes and attitude?

this society is turned to complicated. I wish it was the 80's!!!

Fangz 13-03-2006 08:18 PM

So do I sometimes. They had goths in the eighties but no emos. Sounds like heaven to moi!

lily. 13-03-2006 08:20 PM

I was a goth in the 80s.. and it was no better then... I got judged all the time.

Fangz 13-03-2006 08:22 PM

Everyone gets judged by what they look like to some degree. It's one of the few things that has stayed the same throughout the years.

lily. 13-03-2006 08:24 PM

Very true fangz. I raise my children not to judge folk on appearances. Of course it helps that I have some strange looking friends..

EugeneSully 13-03-2006 08:25 PM

see am not an emo. nor am i a goth. But i wear "emo" shoes n black clothes regularly and dont dress that feminnine if you get what I mean. I like some heavy music and i like some shitty beats. And I'm alsways getting judgd one way or another. just like other person does. theyre's no winning nowadays.

But many years ago, people were more exceptant and couldn't give half a ****. now its all designer labels n playboy cack. Before it was mostly everything was startting but nowadays everything is just following previous trends and changing them more and more.

the whole "bi trend" as well totally pisses me off... the hell?!!>!

Fangz 13-03-2006 08:27 PM

Believe me, no one is more pissed off about the bi trend as us bisexuals. I don't want someone of the same gender to kiss me so their boyfriend can get a thrill, I want them to kiss me cos I'm me.

EugeneSully 13-03-2006 08:29 PM

and also... doesnt the whole "guys kissing is the sex <3" **** really bugging.

Fangz 13-03-2006 08:32 PM

Well, it is hot I guess. But what's the bl00dy point in it all, why can't people just kiss the people they fancy and leave it at that?

agreed!

lily. 13-03-2006 08:34 PM

it's always been like this. even before designer labels took over.

when i was at school... there were groups.. the "trendies" were the ones who hated us.

Fangz 13-03-2006 08:37 PM

Did you find that the trendies got away with more with the teachers? Cos the trendies at my old school could get away with mouthing off at the teachers, but the rest of us couldn't.

lily. 13-03-2006 08:42 PM

Yup, absolutely. Because we had an "attitude problem", and a "chip on our shoulder". In other words, we managed to think for ourselves. How dare we?!

Fangz 13-03-2006 08:43 PM

Better than being a trendy sheep. Baaaa!

Fangz 14-03-2006 07:18 PM

Love it! Emo fishie needs his own thread though!

Z 15-03-2006 06:07 PM

Thanks Fangz! ;D I did a different version to it but it's on my PC at school. I'll email it home and get that one online too. It's basically emo bleeding and getting a plaster on. Also there's one where he gets eaten by a shark, but the text afterwards goes by too fast.
