Something wrong with the mods here

I posted this...

'Yeah, what a pair of fartbums they are.

Errr.

Nope, that's all I've got. '

...about Mikey and Imogen.

And received a warning.

Could anyone explain how this is offensive. Five year olds use worse language that 'fartbum'.

Biased and corrupt?

DizzyLizzy 24-07-2006 11:59 AM

Do you not think you will get another warning for making it a new post?
how many warnings have you had

Chrizzle 24-07-2006 12:01 PM

As much as I respect the mods around here
And think they do great work

I dont see the point in that warning

DizzyLizzy 24-07-2006 12:05 PM

yeah thats a bit silly

Lil-Lindz 24-07-2006 12:17 PM

Yea it does seem a bit silly

Maybe it was just a mistake or something

MarkWaldorf 24-07-2006 12:37 PM

Tis a tad rude though

sol 24-07-2006 01:01 PM

It wasn't really necessary language, if you want to post like that then go to another forum, it's as simple as that.

Edwin 24-07-2006 01:16 PM

It was a completely stupid thing to say, we aren't in school here.

But I admit, giving you a warning was a bit too far.

Chrizzle 24-07-2006 01:19 PM

Yeah it was silly.
And its up to the mods to decide. If they wanna give out a warning they can.
I wouldnt personally, but I aint a mod.

I'm sorry but there is nothing wrong with the Mods on this site. All have very different ways of controlling things. If you stick to the rules then you cant go wrong

Red Moon 24-07-2006 10:08 PM

You should have got a U2U messgae from the mod explaining why you got a warning.

Have you checked your U2U messages?

Siouxsie 24-07-2006 10:39 PM

The mods do a cracking job here :wink:

BB-Rocks 24-07-2006 10:40 PM

Stupid post but stupid getting a warning for it

Red Moon 24-07-2006 10:41 PM

I think you will find the warning was for somehing else. But that is up to the poster of the thread to tell us what.

BB-Rocks 24-07-2006 10:44 PM

Well albie tell us because you amde a thread about it. So you ahve only told us half the story so tell the other half

James 24-07-2006 10:59 PM

The other half of the story...

If a moderator wants to issue a warning he or she has to 'attach' it to a post on the forum.

As albie knows fine well he wasn't warned for that particular post on the forum.

He was warned for sending an abusive u2u to another forum member (this u2u was brought to our attention). Issuing a warning for that post was just a way of issuing a warning for the u2u.

By the way, I checked just there - Albie has already been warned seven times while using this forum.

albie 25-07-2006 11:32 AM

There was no explanation of why I got the warning. And that was the only message I left on that thread (at the time).

And all my other warnings were because somebody insulted me and I insulted them back. They rarely got a warning, BUT I DID.

Was I wrong to take the law into my own hands? Considering you can't trust the mods to be impartial...I think I was right to do it.

DizzyLizzy 25-07-2006 11:34 AM

I think you are playing with fire bringing it up again albie

albie 25-07-2006 11:59 AM

I'm simply answering a question. Maybe my tolerance of aggro is higher than most.

But sometimes you have to make a fuss to get results. If the mods can't satisfy my questions then there's something wrong.

DizzyLizzy 25-07-2006 12:05 PM

I thought they did answer your question, you send a bad U2U did you

albie 25-07-2006 12:14 PM

No. They said the explanation would be in the u2u. It wasn't.

Here it is...

A member of the forum staff has sent you a warning regarding your activity on the thread titled, Michael, Mikey and Imogen. Your have been warned 2 times. Warnings are recorded, and each individual warning expires in seven days (1 week) from the time it was applied. If forum staff continue to warn you for your action, and you gain three or more warnings, a temporary posting ban will be enforced automatically. Do not reply to this U2U.

And the only thing I can imagine was wrong with my posting was the word fartbums.

And no mod has yet told me otherwise. Hence I'm still waiting...

Even Edwin thinks it was undeserved. And he hates me!

DizzyLizzy 25-07-2006 12:17 PM

I cant remember what was being discussed on that forum now I will have to have a look

DizzyLizzy 25-07-2006 12:18 PM

Ok well I just looked at that post and thats all you said actually so I agree that is odd

Red Moon 25-07-2006 12:18 PM

I have sent the admin copy of the U2U to you again.

As James said, a mod has to attach a warning to a post by you, they cannot attach a warning via a u2u so just picked a post by you on the forum. You were warned for sending an abusive u2u to another forum member.

DizzyLizzy 25-07-2006 12:23 PM

Yeah I think that must have been the case. If I had a warning though I would leave it rather than discussing it and digging myself further into trouble....

~Kizwiz~ 25-07-2006 12:27 PM

I think its just best if this is dropped albie. You were given a warning for a reason. Mods dont just go handing them out willy nilly. rather than posting a thread slating mods you could have approached one via a u2u and discussed this away from the forum. It just creates a bad atmosphere!!!!!

I'm not talking about that warning. I'm talking about the one given for something I posted on the Michael, Mikey and Imogen thread.

And that 'abusive' u2u message is rubbish. Slezer called me a fag on a thread. He said that there was nothing wrong with calling people a fag. I sent him a u2u saying ' If it's ok to call people fags why don't you go and do it on the boards.'

Then I called him a fag.

If it's ok to call me a fag, then why is he complaining to the mods about me calling him one? Now, does that seem so abusive now?

Slezer can't take it that I'm right so he has to be underhanded. Just like his namesake.

Now. Can I please have someone pay real attention to this?

DizzyLizzy 25-07-2006 12:49 PM

We are paying attention, we are telling you to dicuss it with the mods!

albie 25-07-2006 12:57 PM

I am! On here. I sent a u2u to one of the top mods and didn't get a reply. To be safe I started this thread.

I got a reply for this thread. Not mu u2u. Yeah?

I got a warning for the mikey imogen michael thread, but there was no red message from the mod on the thread to say why.

That's my point.

Red Moon 25-07-2006 12:59 PM

I'm Closing the the thread after getting complaints from other members.

Please take up you point with James or the Moderators that issued the warnings in U2U

Please cc the U2U you sent to one of the top moderators and I will place it in the admin section of the site.
