Welcome to the Top Song of 2013. If you're not sure of what this whole shebang is, here're a few links to previous years:

2013: "Work" by Iggy Azalea
2012: "Pyramids" by Frank Ocean

2010: "What's My Name (feat. Drake)" by Rihanna
2009: "Sweet Disposition" by the Temper Trap
2008: "Womanizer" by Britney Spears

We'll begin with a Top 200 of the year, hand-picked through the following methods:

- Any song that has appeared in the Top 15 of the UK single charts, or the US Billboard Hot 100, at any point from January 1 2013 to December 31 2013.
- Of those, songs released in 2012 - either as a single, or on an album released before July 2012 - have been removed.
- Also, songs that have appeared in previous editions of this game cannot count (I AM SORRY ICONA POP, WE DIDN'T KNOW YOU'D ACTUALLY GET A HIT)
- And finally, re-releases of songs don't count (sorry Ant & Dec), and singles on rereleased albums don't either (but don't worry - this is just a move to get rid of Lawson, who are literally the only act affected by this rule; Ellie Goulding's was basically a new album).
- The top ten songs from best-of-2013 lists as published by the NME, Pitchfork, PopMatters, the Guardian and Rolling Stone (so long as they don't overlap with each other, and aren't already in the chart-picked songs).
- To save the list from becoming too repetitive, artists are restricted to just their 3 highest-charting songs. This rule has only affected Disclosure and Avicii this year.

So here's how it will work..

PRELIMINARY ROUND I've compiled a list of 175 songs below, but I want to make it a nice, round 200. Therefore I'll allow you to all make suggestions that aren't on the list. I'll outline the rules for suggestions below.
Round 1: Out of the top 200, each member will choose their favourite FIFTEEN songs and reply with their the list. The songs that get the most votes will move onto Round 2.
Round 2: Out of the those, each member will choose their TEN favourite songs and reply with their list. Hopefully by this stage we're down to 100 songs with the least number of votes will move onto round 3.
Round 3: Out of the Top 100, each member will choose their FIVE favorite songs and reply with their the list. The 50-75 songs with the most votes will move onto Round 4.
Round 4: Out of the Top 75-50, each member will choose their FIVE favorite songs (again) and reply with their the list. The 30-50 songs with the highest number of votes will move onto Round 5.
Round 5: Will be made up as I go along because it's very difficult to stick to convenient numbers, and we managed quite nicely doing that last year
