Is it possible to still love someone after 14 years?

I think my ex is still in love with me. After all that time.

Yes.
My dad loved my mother until the day he died, they were divorced for nearly 40 years.

I always knew he liked me, but i thought we were past that stage. A lot of time as passed.

some people find it hard to move on, what has stopped him from moving on?

Novo 13-03-2014 07:29 PM

Is he mental or something

No idea. We have stayed good friends. But i had no idea that he still loved me. He lives in Italy and he's one of my closest mates.

My grandad was the same about my grandmother. She left him and my mum when my mum was 9 and he never loved anyone else, it was so sad. He brought my mum up on his own but if she'd knocked on his door 40 years later he would have welcomed her with open arms.

AnnieK 13-03-2014 07:36 PM

How long we're you together Ness?

I can't move to Italy. There's no work there. I think we're better off as friends.

You must have been very good Vanessa

Seriously though some people never get over their first love.

jamal91 13-03-2014 08:24 PM

If the love is really that strong initially.. perhaps is never goes away.

Kazanne 13-03-2014 08:40 PM

Who finished the relationship? and yes I think you can love someone for years even though you're not with them.

King Gizzard 13-03-2014 08:44 PM

Love, it's a weird thing ain't it?
There's no way to explain it
But I swear, as well as pain
There should be joy, but we sustain
The same level of mundane,
And it's numbing me through

Natalie. 13-03-2014 08:46 PM

Yeah I guess it's possible

..yeah, I think it is possible ..there are different types of love as well, Vanessa...if you have been with someone for a long time/known them very intimately as a partner/husband/wife etc..?...for some people, that's the only person that they will ever love because their emotions are so deep...but I also think that 'first love' is a very deep love and something that a lot of people find difficult to forget because it is the first time that they ever felt those emotions and it's like anything else in life...things generally often don't have the same impact as they do that first time but especially if you never meet anyone who makes you feel those emotions in quite the same way again...that first love will always remain the one that no other person he has met has 'matched'....hmmm, I don't know how you feel about him...

You would need to explain why you think that and you would need to have pretty good evidence. He may still think he does but in practice this would change.
