Too big an age gap?
So im 23 and speaking to a 19 year old guy, we get on etc and he wants to meet, but im uncomfortable about being 4 years older
Is it too large a gap? |
I would say no sis

It just depends on your personalities

I wouldn't say so but all depends on maturity personally

If you've already been speaking and get along, it shouldn't really be too much of an issue (and if it was, you'd have ghosted straight away). I don't think age gaps matter THAT much unless it's over 10 years, really (edit: as in, once the other person is 18  don't date a 13yo.)
|
nah you're fine. There's six years between me and my boo. :spin:
|
Gav is 4 and half years older than me

Thought this was gonna be about hooking up with someone in their 40s or something
|
Can see why it carries a bit of doubt as they're still a teenager but a 19 year old can be more mature than a lot of people in their early 20s and it won't be long before they are 20 anyway which would never be considered weird

You've got nothing to worry about, honestly. None of your family or friends will think any differently of an age gap like that.
|
not us going on a date :smug:
|
Way too much, seek people your actual exact age to the day

No. I usually go for guys the same age or older than me. But when I was travelling I did have one or two flings with the younger species. I feel folk the same age or older than me know what they are doing more. Although I've still had sex with folk who were **** and were older. Knowing me I will be the next Caroline Flack in a few years. Be in my 30s and go for a teen

Age is only a number, I know 20 year olds who are maturer than some of my close friends. Go woth your gut and your heart.....if its not right, at least you gave it a go. You may live to regret not trying if you don't. Just go in with an open mind

4 year to is fine but make sure there home by 9pm

My wife says something similar when I worry about money .. She always says ' they're just numbers on a piece of paper! ' Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |
lolz no there is basically zero difference between a 23 year old and a 19 year old.
If you were 30 I'd say there would be potential problems in terms of an actual relationship but even then, it's not "morally wrong" or anything, just probably wouldn't work because of clashes of ideals and opinions. |
There's 12 years between my parents...
My best mate and her fella have 11 years between them too. "Age is just a number" unless you're Maya in Emmerdale or summat... |
Nah thats fine imo
|
Nope.
Heck my dad is older than my mum by six years and a family friend of ours had a father who was 20 years older than his wife when they got married... |
Most relationships have a 3-4 years or more difference anyway. I guess the teenage thing makes a difference but eh if the connection is right that's not a big deal IMO and 19 is barely even a teen anymore.
I'd probably prefer 21+ at this point of my life but if the connection was right I'd possibly date an 18-20 year old. I actually dated an 18 year old for a little while when I was 21. It didn't work out but veeery similar situation. :joker: |
Nick has officially added you to his list

Nope, my bf was 18 and I'm 23 and he is more mature than the majority of older people I've met.
A number makes no difference |
If you have a connection and are a good match then 4 years is nothing. Don't miss out on something good due to worries about age.
When I was 21 I was dating a great guy for five months. He said he was a year younger than me but he was very knowledgeable, intelligent, worldly wise and mature. We had the greatest connection and the relationship was brilliant. I then found out he'd misled me about his age and was actually only just 17. Despite being so happy with him, I was horrified by the fact that, without me being aware, he would actually have been only 16 when I started dating him, so I ended it. I still know this guy 8 years on, and he is now extremely happy in a long term relationship. However, the longer I've known him the more wonderful he has turned out to be and I've never had a relationship that has made so happy since him. Ending it with him over worries about age is the biggest regret I have, as I lost something and someone very special. As you get older age matters less, so don't miss out on something that could be good because of age. |
