Cat help
Ok... I have a little problem with an unwanted cat in my garden. I have two female neutered cats who are kinda house cats but like to roam a little in the garden and we have just installed a cat flap for them.
We've now had to close this up at night time, because a tomcat..... "One Ear" Red calls him..... keeps coming in..... he actually made it all the way upstairs and got stuck under our bed which really upset the two females. We have also noticed that One Ear has been spraying the area around our house. Has anyone had anything similar happen or have any advice on this?? |
Ooh-er.
Sounds like a weird problem you have there... I remember catching a neighbours cat napping in our garden once but that's about it for me... |

I can imagine how you are feeling.
We had a cat that fits the description of the male cat you are talking about... we got rid of it 3 years ago. We got a few complaints from our neighbours... :blush2::blush2::laugh2::laugh2: |
the thing with a tom is that they can roam for miles and spray everywhere:rolleyes:
|
we keep having cats around our garden too kizzy we must have had 3 last night not counting my 2 and not all at the smae time. I soon shooed them off though lol
|
my mum suggested a waterpistol.... but that means getting out of bed in the middle of the night
One time we were sure we had chased him away and shut the cat flap.... only tofind our two on the bed making angry noises and then finding 3 cats fighting under the bed....... it was very odd |
Water pistol is a good deterrent for cats. Set Red up with the waterpistol aiming it at the cat flap and make him stand guard until one ear tries to infiltrate. LOL.

Get one of the girls to do it...... or we ground them for a month.
|
Have you had a look at infer red flaps?
http://www.petdoorsonline.co.uk/acat..._Flaps_13.html Your cat has a key so it will unlock it only. |
Now you see I thought they would be really expensive.... but there not really...... dont think my two would keep a collar on.... and if they didnt I would be fooked
|
Take a brick............:joker:

The plan worked! :laugh2: |
*humph*
I shall send One Ear round to your flat and see how you like it |
Kiz try sprinkling some strong pepper around the garden where he likes to hang out, also you could try throwing Red at him to see if that deters him!!
Seriously though some Red peppers or chilli seeds and pepper mix usually does the trick |

Edit: I cant pick red up..... I could push him towards One Ear... but that might not do the same trick |
We used to have a cat who used to be around my home, we had a dog then, and the cat was clawing my dog and attacking it in my own home so we got a water pistol and that did the trick, it hasn't been back since, well it has been in the road but no where near my house.
So water pistol would be a good idea. (Felt sorry for the cat though, poor thing was drenched :( |

Yeah, at our old house we used to have a cat who used to sleep in our house all day. We didn't do anything about it.
When we went on holiday once, obviously we locked up the house and everything, and when we came back we never saw it again. :conf: |
Someone once told me if you sprinkle dried sea urchin round that cats like to chew on it, it then makes their stomachs explode, end of cat problem!!!

These are the little fluffkins I am trying to make happier

i have a tom cat! it's not my at that is your problem though!! we had a few unwanted cats coming into our garden 'marking their territory' it was a pain because my cat would always fight with them:bored:!! the only thing i can suggest is that at night keep the cat flap locked and your cats indoors (very cute cats by the way) and get those cats eyes things you know the metal cats with big marble eyes and put them there at night! or haha record a dog barking and play it at night haha and annoy the neighbours!!
:thumbs::thumbs::thumbs::thumbs: dunno what else to suggest! unless you move house! |

And Kiz your Cats Are So Pretty...Really Cute Cats. |
are your cats comming into season sounds like it , try strong disinfected where hes sprayed ,or you can get some spray from the vets to remove animal urine it removes the smell . its about 6 pounds . hope this helps also if you see the male spray him with water .evertime he comes in the garden .
|
I like cats as long as they belong to someone else Red!! More of a dog person myself.
I was only joking though! I in no way would endorse being cruel to any animal, I even picked a cat up from the road that was hit by a car in front of me, it was so seriously injured that it needed to be put to sleep and I paid for that at my local vets so it could have a little dignity at the end of its life. It never fails to amaze me that people can hit a cat with a car and carry on driving, they are someones loved pet and should be given a little respect. |
Aww Sunny...That must of been tough for you to see happen, so nice of you to pick up the cat and take it to a vets.
