Earth Hour
 

Tonight anywhere across the globe at 8.30pm to 9.30pm (local time) it is Earth Hour.

For that one hour you switch off all of your lights in your house. You can leave the TV on etc. as long as your lights are off. It is to save money on your electricity bill and it uses less Carbon Dioxide.

It nice when you see Melbourne on the news turning off the bridge lights and Sydney Opera House's lights.

i've got energy saving lightbulbs in so i'm doing my bit plus will only be 1 light on

I don't really see the point, what difference is one hour going to make in the long haul?

I agree with Snig, it's just a gimmick.

also surely if it was to make a point and so on a total black out for a hour would be better so only essentials on like fridges and freezers

Lights are off enough when were asleep and during the day...

Off for like 10 hours anyway.

This is being advertised in Maccy D's, people are just being lazy/fussy if they dont do it, I am gonna do it, I dont need my light anyway haha.

I already use energy-saving bulbs, I rarely have the light on anyway, I recycle and if that bloody isn't enough, I'm happy for the world to die.

lol I was considering doing this... I look over the road to a big house, all 4 floors had lights on. I was like... 'EW **** THIS!'

I'm quite shocked to see my street in darkness. Most windows just have blue lights from the TV reflecting on the walls!

I am actually sat in the dark, its actually really fun.

We have 1 light on in the living room. My dad says we need to keep it on.

Also the bathroom and kitchen light have been on and off.

reminds me of being a kid, when I used to hide in dens... don't ask. I aint even doing it for the earth I am doing it for my own entertainment, learning lines in the dark is fun, reminds me of camping!

I bet the Spinnaker Tower in Portsmouth (where I live) is in darkness.

i've looked out onto my street and near enough every house has at least 1 light on

I tried walking to the window to see how many lights were off but I nearly broke my neck... I am only gonna do half an hour, cos I am starting to think its pointless... the novelty has worn off :P

All my lights was on in every room, then i put the cooker on, kettle, all the tv's, radio.... And the spot light and the front door out light!
I don't mind paying bit extra..

don't know why but that tower to me just say's cheap man's Burg al Arab.
