Mike 12-04-2006 10:25 PM

Being a football addict who watches everyone game on TV and goes to lots of games i'm hardly going to miss the world cup, i think we stand a good chance of winning the tournament i want it to be an England v Germany final.

BigSister 12-04-2006 10:31 PM

I cant wait for it

Siouxsie 12-04-2006 10:32 PM

wonder what the first game will be ? Lets take a bet ?

Dan_ 13-04-2006 03:19 PM

Costa Rica vs Germany think it is.

Hear that Michael Owen might not be fit enough to play 90 mins.

BigSister 13-04-2006 03:42 PM

ours is against Paraguay I think
Lets just hope that Rooney doesnt get injured too:bawling:

cc100 13-04-2006 08:12 PM

Typical England- we all get excited, and then they probably end up losing in the second round.

Jay 20-04-2006 02:14 AM

Not long now let's just hope we can keep our best players injury free

BigSister 20-04-2006 01:16 PM

Looks like Ledley King could be out lets hope he gets better fast

sol 20-04-2006 02:51 PM

Cant wait for it, I hope that we win :bouncy:

x-heather-x 20-04-2006 04:49 PM

im excited too:bouncy:

cc100 20-04-2006 08:13 PM

Michael Owen is a big worry- he needs to be fit if we are to do well.

I cant see it myself.

InTheHood 20-04-2006 09:52 PM

Netherlands

Although we have the toughest group and anything can happen :blush2:

InTheHood 22-04-2006 08:36 PM

UK?

BB-Rocks 22-04-2006 11:51 PM

Its England no not the UK. If they win the UK wont get mentioned ..

James 02-05-2006 09:09 PM

It's getting a bit depressing for Scotland not qualifying for these international tournaments, with all the World Cup hype.

Well, at least we have the Kirin Cup to look forward to!:rolleyes::hugesmile:

And why should the UK be mentioned? Its an English team of English players?

Im all for the UK, but in this sport, we are 4 separate nations.

Tanser_Man 06-05-2006 11:56 AM

Got to be England's year!

Can't see us getting beaten in the first three games. Then if we go through we have either Poland or Germany, neither of these teams are anything to worry about.

I'd say quarter finals is a cert, we just need to stay clear of brazil untill the final!

No1MakosiFan 06-05-2006 12:14 PM

I not really bovvered about the world cup. Football is boring.

Tanser_Man 06-05-2006 04:23 PM

Face... bovverrrred.

Anyway, you don't need to like it, but i'd say 80% of the population will be there cheering us on.

England world cup squad

Provisional squad:
Robinson (Tottenham), James (Manchester City), Green (Norwich); G Neville (Manchester United), Ferdinand (Manchester United), Terry (Chelsea), Cole (Arsenal), Campbell (Arsenal), Carragher (Liverpool), Bridge (Chelsea), Beckham (Real Madrid), Carrick (Tottenham), Lampard (Chelsea), Gerrard (Liverpool), Hargreaves (Bayern Munich), Jenas (Tottenham), Downing (Middlesbrough), J Cole (Chelsea), Lennon (Tottenham), Rooney (Manchester United), Owen (Newcastle), Crouch (Liverpool), Walcott (Arsenal).

Standby:
Carson (Liverpool), Young (Charlton), Reo-Coker (West Ham), Defoe (Tottenham), Johnson (Crystal Palace).

3 suprises in Downing, Walcott and Lennon. I think Jenas/Hargreaves could have made way for another striker, not sure about Johnson being on standby either.
