Being a football addict who watches everyone game on TV and goes to lots of games i'm hardly going to miss the world cup, i think we stand a good chance of winning the tournament i want it to be an England v Germany final.

Costa Rica vs Germany think it is.

Hear that Michael Owen might not be fit enough to play 90 mins.

Typical England- we all get excited, and then they probably end up losing in the second round.

Michael Owen is a big worry- he needs to be fit if we are to do well.

I cant see it myself.

It's getting a bit depressing for Scotland not qualifying for these international tournaments, with all the World Cup hype.

Well, at least we have the Kirin Cup to look forward to!

And why should the UK be mentioned? Its an English team of English players?

Im all for the UK, but in this sport, we are 4 separate nations.

Got to be England's year!

Can't see us getting beaten in the first three games. Then if we go through we have either Poland or Germany, neither of these teams are anything to worry about.

I'd say quarter finals is a cert, we just need to stay clear of brazil untill the final!

Face... bovverrrred.

Anyway, you don't need to like it, but i'd say 80% of the population will be there cheering us on.

England world cup squad

Provisional squad:
Robinson (Tottenham), James (Manchester City), Green (Norwich); G Neville (Manchester United), Ferdinand (Manchester United), Terry (Chelsea), Cole (Arsenal), Campbell (Arsenal), Carragher (Liverpool), Bridge (Chelsea), Beckham (Real Madrid), Carrick (Tottenham), Lampard (Chelsea), Gerrard (Liverpool), Hargreaves (Bayern Munich), Jenas (Tottenham), Downing (Middlesbrough), J Cole (Chelsea), Lennon (Tottenham), Rooney (Manchester United), Owen (Newcastle), Crouch (Liverpool), Walcott (Arsenal).

Standby:
Carson (Liverpool), Young (Charlton), Reo-Coker (West Ham), Defoe (Tottenham), Johnson (Crystal Palace).

3 suprises in Downing, Walcott and Lennon. I think Jenas/Hargreaves could have made way for another striker, not sure about Johnson being on standby either.
