What does it mean?

What does it mean when someone says he/she is a lush?

I though saying blah blah blah is lush was like saying someone was hot but lately ive been seeing it used as a kind of insult

Niall 16-01-2012 07:08 PM

I thought it meant the same thing as saying someone is hot too D:

MTVN 16-01-2012 07:08 PM

Always thought it meant delicious, like when referring to food and stuff, although I've heard it used to say someone's hot as well but never as an insult :conf2:

I've been reading DS (yeah I know i'm a traitor) and I have seen it used a few times as if it's an insult.

Lush is used as a noun to mean "heavy drinker". It is an American usage.

King Gizzard 16-01-2012 07:16 PM

Thought it was the welsh equivalent of fit

mizzy25 16-01-2012 07:20 PM

Samuel. 16-01-2012 07:22 PM

I've heard it used for anything considered good

GypsyGoth 16-01-2012 07:23 PM

Calling someone a lush, is different from saying someone is lush.

Mystic Mock 16-01-2012 07:24 PM

Black Dagger 16-01-2012 07:24 PM

I've heard it used several ways.

if someone IS lush - they're desireable, lovely, fancied.

If some is A lush -they're a skank - usually when enebriated.

If something is lush - it's nice, pleasant (as in lush green fields)

Incensed 16-01-2012 07:48 PM

I normally associate it with meaning someone is an alky, but that could just be because of the company I keep :joker:
