Are channel 5 obsessed with twists
Anyone else hoping there's less twists and nominations meddling this series
|
yeah.
|
Yes, especially on the nomination process that made the Diary Room (or how Ch5 spelt it the once) the Dairy Room relevant.
|
No, Endemol are.

I'm losing count of how many times we have to make it clear that Channel 5 aren't responsible for the twists or whatever happens during the series. Endemol produce the series and tell the producers and storyline producers what to do and what to make, not 5.
Channel 5 are the ones who buy the rights to air the show. Whatever is made, they need to show. |
Storyline producers?
Has BB become a Soap? |

Ever since Emma took over from Brian, it's been twist-heavy. Not saying it's Emma's fault.
But ever since BB14, there's been a lot of twists. When Brian was on the show, there wasn't much twists. Especially in the Civilian series, like BB13. Over the last year the show has become "conflict heavy" too. BB15 and CBB15 being great examples. Twists = Artifical Conflict = Trash Good housemates = Natural Conflict = Entertainment |
The word "twist" is a parody of itself now.
|
At least we're not in 'Twistos Twist' territory just yet.
|
I think BB16 could either make or break Big Brother.
If they don't learn from the mistakes they made in BB15, and CBB15. Then I'm done with the Civilian BB, as well as the summer CBB. The only thing I will watch is January CBB, as that feels classic and like an event. And in the summer, I will just re-watch Channel 4 series on YouTube, as if they were airing for the first time. |
I hope there is less nomination meddling. I don't mind the odd twist if it's good

It's more like "norm" now. They're pretty much part of the format. It just aggravates me how the producers are destroying the show more and more each series, and think it's what the viewers want. It really annoys me. The producers in charge of BB15 should be executed - effective immediatley. BB15 was such a rotten series. It wasn't your ordinary "bad" series, which you just shrugged off. It was massive turning point, in BB. And, if they want the show to be successful, then they really need to fix up. CBB15 was the same, but it had a lot of controversy and people talking about it, which bumped ratings. If they keep producing series like BB15/CBB14/CBB15, then the ratings will average 800k, by 2018. A step forward would be to take the show back to the time of BB14/CBB13, when both formats were working well. The show may have become less tacky, as the series go by. But the series themselves are getting more rotten and rotten. |
I'm not sure how viewing figures are going to fall to 800k if they keep producing series like CBB15, considering that's their most-viewed series an' all...
|
Sure, you could argue that BB14 has the highest civilian viewing figures on Channel 5, but it was just as twist and public influence-heavy as BB15 was. Plus, it wasn't up against a World Cup.

Agree secrets and lies had a lot of issues it certainly wasn't perfect

I love how Endemol / C5 are overusing the CBB market. All I can say is "Enjoy it whilst you can". 2 CBB's a year, and the fact they're both 4 weeks now, too. I wouldn't be surprised if CBB dies off, by the end of next year. It will be so stale. If BB16 is bad. I'm ditching BB, like C5 have. I've given the show enough chances. |

Well, it's good to know that we all still have faith in this show.

I see

This could be the best series ever. How about that little strand of optimism?
