Do you buy Video Games based off what critics say?
Me and My Brother had a chat a few days ago about how we think that Video Game critics constant bad reviews on certain types of Games are killing those genres off in the Video Game world.
My question is that do you buy Video Games based off critical reviews or do you just go with what you like the look of? I'm not gonna lie I do tend to stay away from Video Games that score really low on critical reviews, but if I do really like the look of a negatively reviewed Video Game I'll still buy it regardless. This isn't meant to cause an argument, because tbf it might be more sensible to go with something that seems more universally liked with how expensive Games are, I'm just a bit of a Gambler and I like to go for the niche supported Games sometimes.:joker: |
I barely play any video games but if I ever get something I usually don't care about reviews cause they find a flaw in everything.

Nah, I'll judge for myself. If it's something I want to play then I'll likely enjoy it regardless of reviews.

I don't buy very many so I generally stick to franchises I'm already familiar with, or if I try something new I want to hear rave reviews about it before I'm convinced.

Yes. I look at reviews, forum reactions and listen to podcasts, and 9 times out of 10 I find the consensus to be accurate enough to know if I want to buy said game or not. Obviously with my own tastes taken into consideration too.

Depends. There are some games I buy every year so the reviews help me to decide if I'm gonna buy it full price or wait for the price to come down. Reviews have saved me quite a bit of money TBH.
