I do if there's more than three people having tea, it's not luke warm because it's poured straight away

My teapots is in storage because we had been living here for 6 months and never used it. I guess it still counts as owning one though

Mokka 01-03-2016 01:11 PM

I do, but everytime I make a pot, I only get one cup anyways... The whole house drinks from the pot

Plus, the teapot keeps it warm for that second cup, regardless

:nono: using 2 recepticles for the tea greatly reduces the temp.

So does pouring milk in tea

Mokka 01-03-2016 01:14 PM

But a cup has a wide open mouth and all that heat spills out into the air

My teapot has a lid :hmph:

Jessica. 01-03-2016 01:16 PM

I like my drinks hot but not scalding, lowering the temperature a little has its benefits in that case.

Only if making tea for more than 2/3 of us

jennyjuniper 01-03-2016 02:56 PM

I like to use a teapot and here in Denmark they have a ceramic stand where you can have a tealight underneath the pot to keep the tea warm. I also have a mug with a lid which also helps to keep the tea hot.

Xtopher 01-03-2016 03:01 PM

I just bought a beautiful red one.

Shaun 01-03-2016 03:05 PM

I like the idea of using one but it's rather impractical

Cherie 01-03-2016 03:25 PM

Sometimes it there are more than two for tea, also I own a cafetiere ..posh

T* 01-03-2016 03:29 PM

I usually do all the time, it tastes better- but a cup if say myself only wants one. Which is never. We all live for tea here

NorthNessie 06-03-2016 05:34 PM

My whole family drinks tea, so we have two tea pots,
the better of the two is metal, which keeps the tea hot for a really long time
(unless you leave it sitting for a day)
I'm usually selfish though, making tea only for myself,
continuously going back to the kitchen to make more, because one cup is never enough. :hehe:

kirklancaster 06-03-2016 06:03 PM

I always use a '2 cup' teapot at home and always have my tea in cafes in a '2 cup' teapot with seperate pot of boiling water and seperate milk jug so that I can 'mix' my tea to just the precise strength.

I detest being served with weak, too milky tea, and tea which has had the milk added first ugh.

Why not just make three cups straight from the kettle?

I said more than three cups :hee: for two reasons, it saves you using loads of tea bags and it's easier than making all individual ones

Mokka 06-03-2016 08:43 PM

also... I use looseleaf tea over teabags... so the pot with strainer is more convenient

joeysteele 06-03-2016 09:06 PM

Yes,I use one, prefer my tea out of a teapot than just made in a cup.
