Tickets reportedly cancelled at random, new set capacity less than 200

Apparently an email has gone out to some ticket holders for launch saying:

"It is with MASSIVE REGRET that we have had to cancel your tickets for tomorrow night's Big Brother Launch.
After a health and safety inspection this morning our audience numbers have dropped dramatically - in fact, we are unlikely to get 200 audience members into the new audience area versus a previous expectation of 350!
Due to the above we have had to cancel tickets entirely at random. - Sadly, as you may be aware, all tv audience tickets are free of charge and subject to change at any time.
We would hate for you to travel all the way to be turned away at the show! - Please do not attempt to use your tickets at the launch as your QR code will now be rejected resulting in a wasted journey for yourself and your party."

Makes sense as the new area is tiny! Wow though... less than 200 spaces!

They'll have to extend the audience stage next.

How big was the old crowd? It makes sense that the crowd capacity has shrunk after the embarrassing lack of interest last year

Amy Jade 06-06-2016 07:00 PM

You'd be fumed wouldn't you. I would be.

Rob! 06-06-2016 07:00 PM

It's literally just going to be that fat guy who always shouts isn't it?

MB. 06-06-2016 07:01 PM

470 was previous capacity.

60% less capacity.

Eh, at least we cut down on the chavs that shout 'Off' at every housemate. :idc:

TomC 06-06-2016 07:02 PM

Omg 200 people.

The old set could hold approximately 470 people - although I doubt they filled it all given that massive empty chunk where the crane camera was and often the stands were half empty too like during Janice's and Jenna's eviction in CBB16.

A mess. Oh well hopefully this spells the end of the rent a mob atmosphere

I agree, C5 staging has had probably some of the emptiest stages ever. Especially in bad weather cause those parts what you say about (Left side of the spinny eye) was closed when it was wet cause made it all slippery whereas ground was just stone.

Calderyon 06-06-2016 07:09 PM

Hopefully this means less boos and jeering. And that annoying "Woop, woop", before the start.

MB. 06-06-2016 07:09 PM

I've no doubt that the set will still manage to be half empty

zakman440 06-06-2016 07:09 PM

This isn't necessarily a bad thing tbh (so long as they don't let the regulars in).

Jordan. 06-06-2016 07:09 PM

Mess at them to just step out to friends and family

Lostie! 06-06-2016 07:09 PM

Cut it down by about another 200 and we're sorted.

Omg how sad if they try to get them to make some noise at the beginning and there's like three women.

"whoop..... whoop"

Jason. 06-06-2016 07:10 PM

I imagine the booing, chanting, and WOOP WOOP will still be present tbh, it just won't be as loud cause there's half the people there was before, but it won't be gone.

RichardG 06-06-2016 07:10 PM

the chants and booing and stuff probably isn't going to end but with less than 200 people it'll be so weak i'll bet it's even more embarrassing to watch than usual.

Tbh, I wouldn't mind that.

I think BB3's launch just had all of the friends and family outside to say bye and a few press photographers.

MB. 06-06-2016 07:12 PM

I'd rather they just gave them all cinema-like seats at this point and let them hurl popcorn at the housemates

Jack_ 06-06-2016 07:20 PM

YAAAASSSSS less of the scum! This is actually the best bit of news so far

If only they'd put a roof over the set
