Scooch on the rocks

From The Sun

I’M sending out a musical SOS — but my call for help may already have been answered.

A Stop Our SCOOCH campaign is clearly needed to prevent the camp cretins from embarrassing us at the Eurovision song contest.

A Swedish pop singer called PANDORA has already leapt to the rescue. She has accused Scooch of copying one of her songs and called for Eurovision to ban Flying The Flag (For You) from May 12’s cheese-fest in Helsinki, Finland.

Pandora, also known as ELIN MAGNUSSON, competed to represent Sweden in both the 2003 and 2004 competitions but was pipped at the post both times. She said: “Scooch’s entry is more than similar to my song No Regrets that I released on an album back in 1999.

“I want the Scooch entry to be disqualified.”

The singer, very big in Finland I hear, consulted the Swedish Musicians’ Union, who then complained to the European Broadcasting Union.

In that case, even if Scooch do end up singing they most likely will not be singing that song. :hello:

Mrluvaluva 30-03-2007 10:41 AM

I know. Using their "ghost singers" off stage aswell.

Bells 30-03-2007 10:44 AM

^^^ Yeah, and that, I'd forgotten about that!
I can't believe they thought they'd get away with that.

Mrluvaluva 30-03-2007 10:51 AM

The controversy of it all! lol

BigSister 30-03-2007 11:44 AM

shouldnt this be in music:cloud:

Mrluvaluva 30-03-2007 11:47 AM

You could also argue it should be in TV chat. That is why I put it in general chat.

Sophii3x 30-03-2007 03:10 PM

^ Nah it should be in Music!

Well that's a shame! I was really looking forward to seeing Scooch perform at Eurovision. But noooo some Swedish bitch has to come along and spoil it.

Grrrrr.....

Dr43%er 30-03-2007 03:14 PM

Sounds like an episode of Father Ted.

Mrluvaluva 30-03-2007 03:28 PM

Does it matter? I posted the thread about Paris going to jail in the Celebrity Big Brother section by mistake earlier. Bring on the firing squad!

Lauren 30-03-2007 03:41 PM

Did someone just say Scooch was.... .... music?

The absurdity!

Siouxsie 30-03-2007 05:10 PM

ive never heard it

Sam 30-03-2007 05:29 PM

Cyndi should have won!!! Im still hoping she represents us, shes the real winner of eurovision, scooch were just too bad :cheer2:

Psylocke 30-03-2007 07:04 PM

Scooch's song would win if the eurovision wasnt about politics.

"would you like somthing to suck on for landing sir"

GREAT Camp,Brittish double entendre ala "are you being served"

andybigbro 30-03-2007 07:18 PM

So whos going to sing at Eurovision

Dan_ 30-03-2007 07:37 PM

They have not been chucked out and if they were it would proably be Cyndi.

Chrizzle 30-03-2007 08:21 PM

Oh come on, the song is pure Eurovision.
Like psy said, if it wasnt about politics, we'd win no doubt with that song.

Its fun.

Mrluvaluva 30-03-2007 08:24 PM

I agree Chris. I have said in another post the song has "Eurovision" written all over it. But politics always comes into it unfortunately. That is what makes "Eurovision" such a farce.

Chrizzle 30-03-2007 08:27 PM

Yeah it should be stopped now I reckon. Its not what it used to be.

Sophii3x 30-03-2007 08:28 PM

Eurovision will always be a farce! If we entered Madonna we still wouldn't win.

Countries vote for their neighbours, it's pointless even entering.
The BBC actually keep the Eurovision running with funding. We really shouldn't bother.

Psylocke 30-03-2007 09:28 PM

I think the voting should be changed completely.its rubbish.

Dan_ 30-03-2007 11:51 PM

The last time we came anywhere near winning was with a ballad, I'm not sure stuff like Scooch wins eurovision anymore.

Oh god. Scooch. Every time I hear that song my ears vomit in disgust. (Not literally.)
