Chickpea pasta?

So as you'll all aware I'm on diet and this week I've been having the low calorie noodles at 9 calories per 100g.

However the plant it's made from means it has a fishy odour and I find it very off putting.

So came across gluten free chickpea fussil pasta today which has 50 cals per 100g which is still great.

Anyone ever had it before, I presume it doesn't taste much different from regular pasta.

I've lost 4 pound this week.

Thing is if you diet by eating things you dont normally eat the weight loss will always be temporary

Are you saying you have lost weight by just dieting?

Yes, well and walking but I do that normally anyway.

I decreased my calorie intake by a lot.

You can.

Will. 25-02-2017 01:47 PM

I'm eating 500-800 calories a day.

I have 1 cheat day where I eat 1000-1500 a day.

At my weight I lose around 5 pound a week.

Once I've lost my weight I will stick to 1500-2000 a day to maintain a healthy weight.

Crimson Dynamo 25-02-2017 01:48 PM

You would not lose 4 pounds in 1 week by just taking in less calories you need constant exercise and walking is not the right way as it kills of only a small amount of energy

Well probably around May/June.

I'll happily stick to this pasta if it's nice, and continue to use alternatives to bread like cracker bread and crisps bread and eat low calorie yogurts.

I walk around 6KM Monday/Wednesday/Thursday and Friday.

Weekend I don't really do much unless going out.

if I was eating close to 2000 a day then yeah I would lose like a pound a week.

I lose a lot because of my age and current weight.

Yeah it's not much, it's difficult some days but I'm using lots of low calorie alternatives.

But the 1/2 cheat days help a lot and I'm still eating a lot less than normal.

Jason. 25-02-2017 02:10 PM

It's difficult because your body needs more than 1,000 calories per day. Eating less doesn't sound healthy and it'll be hard to maintain that loss in the long run as you'll just put the weight back on once you stop and begin eating as normal.

Plus it sounds like you're restricting yourself way too much (you've just started) and you'll end up feeling hungry and getting cravings which will result in binging.

Thank you for the advice.

Yeah I know, it's just when I do like around 1500 calorie diets I always seem to never be able to do it, like after 2 days I stop.

But with 500-800 I find myself sticking to it because I can see the weight loss after a couple of days which really motivates me. It's strange cause you'd think it be the other way round. I'm not doing it alone though, a girl in my class is doing the same (she's already done most of it and it was a really good weight).

Once I get to 12 stone I'll stop and just eat normally, like 1500-2000 calories a day so I don't think I could put on weight, different maybe if I was 9/10 stone.

How many calories are you actually eating per day? those meals seem far too low to have enough nutrients and stuff you need in them.

Why not just have proper meals with a large portion of salad or vegetables on the plate and obviously grill or oven cook things instead of frying them.

Josy 02-03-2017 02:48 PM

Yeah just saw what you posted, you will end up malnourished.

I'm not doing it everyday, I do about 3 days at 500 and then the rest are just around 1500 calories.

A bit like that 5/2 diet.

Oh and I have 1 cheat day where I eat 2500-3000.

Yeah that's a good idea, I've changed it up a bit, I'm having lots of soups etc.

Also eat some avocado for healthy fats. (your whole brain is basically made of fat, not all fat is bad)

Yeah thats defo right hun! I've been having lots of beans.

I've got low calorie bread which 50 cals per slice and 9g of carbs per slice.

I need to try avocado, it does sound really nice.
