Christmas Party Dilemma
 

I heard this on a radio show earlier and it's a tough one, what would you do?

So you work with couple who met in the job, are married and have a kid together. You get on well with them both. It's the work Christmas party and they can't get a baby sitter so the husband goes to the party and the wife stays home with the kid. At the Christmas party you see the husband in the corner kissing some girl. What do you do? Tell the wife? Say something to the husband? or pretend you saw nothing? Or something else?

*for arguments sake, we'll say you know them pretty well and are very friendly with them both (but not best buddies like your out of work friends)

I would mind my own business, people behaving out of character at Christmas parties is not unheard of, he might be full of remorse afterwards and she might not take kindly to any intervention, plus if I don't know them well, they might have an open relationship, I still have to work with them even after they have possibly made up so it might cause friction at work that I could do without so I'm keeping well out of it :hee:

I'd send her an anonymous letter and a photograph of the dirty bugger.

If you’re friends with the man you’d ask him what he was doing, if you’re friends with the woman, tell her

If you are pals with the man you would more likely say "did you shag her?" and then perch for the details

I'd ask "Did you shag her?" and then if the answer was yes I'd re-evaluate our friendship status.

It reminds me of when I hired a wee lassie from Crieff and she was ever so posh and bright and i was well pleased with the hire. FF 3 weeks later to the Christmas party when she got hammered and called the MD of Capital radio a c unt very loudly and aggressively, I could even see Tony Blackburn wince.

I also recall a girl in my team (diff company) wanking off the Commercial Director at a Christmas party and he was married with kids and she was going out with a pal of mine.

What can I say, there’s a lot of them on this site so I guess I’m just used to it by now

even though i wouldn't want the family to split up because of the kid i will still have to tell her because it would be bugging me a lot. it seems unfair on the woman not knowing the truth and she deserves better (same goes to if the woman was cheating on the man). If that woman ever found out and knew you knew for ages then she will be pissed with you so it will be awkward and tense every work shift you have with them.
