What is Meghan's background? (apart from her race I mean, Ann obviously didn't mean that)

Ann is old school...the last time a member of the Royal family fell for an American divorcee he abdicated.
Megan seems lovely...it's quite refreshing and her acceptance into the Royal family is a sign that the Royals are moving forward.

Why didn't she specify what she meant though :rolleyes: . She can't just make a sweeping statement as "Megan will be trouble" and not give a reason why :conf: . So I believe it's a Xenophobic thing as Megan is American , but the Royal family isn't 100% British but whatever .

I agree with Ann ,I fear it will all end in tears, she's too pushy ( over talking Harry in engagement interview all the time) I just can't warm to her either,she's certainly no Princess Kate

It's nothing to do with her race. It's probably because she's American. Look what happened the last time a royal fell for an American? That's her line if thinking, I feel.

Don't put things out there without you have proof that what Ann meant, I dont like her either,but nothing to do with her colour or nationality or her being divorced, Theres just something not right with her

Megan has history with other men, if one of them publishes pictures or stories it could get very embarrassing. Its not the Megan is unsuitable, just that as she is not a virgin princess, there are potential issues

Ann has seen enough bad eggs in her lifetime to spot them a mile off.

Tbh I wrote this comment before I watched the HL show :laugh2: , and I was going by what other people said on here .

But I think it might be to do with the fact Meghan has been married before, but I don't know I still wondered if there was another reason. And no not a racist one .

Even if that had something to do with it there are many other ways that traditionally she would have been considered unsuitable to marry a royal ie divorced, non-virgin, older, not upper-class etc so to jump straight to the colour of her skin is blinkered.

Ann is maybe the same as me,its just a gut feeling that its just not genuine and Harry ( lovely lad) is going to get hurt ,I can see it ending in tears, IMO Meghan will use her role to bring attention to all her causes,this is not what being a member of the Royal family is about ,its about supporting the Queen and being an ambassador for the Uk

The only thing I recall is the King abdicating because the woman had already been married. A completely different set of circumstances.

Well Ann said background. That's nothing to do with not liking that she's talkative in interviews but specifically about where and what she's come from. Not saying Ann is racist but she's being judgemental about something like her nationality, her profession or whatever.
