Safe (Netflix Original)

Has anyone else been watching this? I’ve just finished ep 5 and I’m gripped :amazed:

Headie 19-05-2018 07:17 PM

Never heard of it, what's it about?

Cherie 19-05-2018 07:17 PM

I've watched 7 eps and I'm finding some of the acting atrocious, particularly Michael Halls

Widowed surgeon Tom has struggled to raise his two daughters alone following his wife's death a year ago. Things seem to be on the right track for the family, who live in a gated community, because they have close friends nearby and Tom is in the early stages of a new relationship. But the situation takes a turn for the worse when Jenny, Tom's oldest daughter, goes missing along with her boyfriend. Tom enlists girlfriend Sophie, a police detective, to help locate the teens, but her new partner is working her own agenda. As the investigation intensifies, Tom unearths dark secrets about the people closest to him in his affluent neighborhood. The drama series was created by mystery novelist Harlan Coben.

Yeah I finished this yesterday
Spoiler:

I loved it up until the last episode? I found the ending a bit disappointing but overall it was enjoyable

I thought it all tied together pretty well, the only thing that wasn’t explained was why the plant pot was moved :joker:

And I worked it out in ep 7 too :amazed:

Baby Jane 20-05-2018 12:07 PM

I'm only onto the second episode of this but I'm really enjoying it so far!

Shaun 20-05-2018 12:21 PM

Watched the first episode last night and it just seems really... cheaply made and badly acted?

Finding the acting really wooden, very surprised at Hall in particular

RileyH 20-05-2018 01:22 PM

Imma start this now for Amy Leigh Hickman

I worked it out in ep 7, I normally don't with these shows

Vanessa 20-05-2018 05:54 PM

Emmett Scanlan is on this. Aka Brendan Brady

Ross. 20-05-2018 05:59 PM

Yeah it doesn't help some of the actors are people I haven't seen in anything since... Footballers' Wives  but my biggest gripe is with the editing, it's really hard to place what's wrong with it but it feels like scenes just get rushed, and every cliche "suspicious character looks suspicious" cutaway gets really irritating. The flashback at the start of E2 of the entire "Michael C Hall (forget the character name, lol) asks the parents of the party-girl what happened" scene was really frustrating, too. Literally the entire scene cut and copied, rather than abbreviated

But Laila Rouass slayed me and that’s all that matters

Marsh. 24-05-2018 03:58 PM

Spoiler:

I'm Laila Rouass casually taking a dip in the pool we found a body in.

Shaun 24-05-2018 04:50 PM

That whole family ruin it tbh, the tone of the show is completely different whenever scenes with them appear. Not anything wrong with them per se but they're just weird little bursts of comedy and I'm not sure if they're intentional.

Marsh. 24-05-2018 04:52 PM

Smacking the delivery man with a wine bottle HAD to be comedy.

Shaun 24-05-2018 04:53 PM

Anyway I think I'm up to episode 6 now so I'll go with my final guess of:

Spoiler:

Detective lady's son killed Chris because he's a gay who wanted his weewee and got rejected

bots 24-05-2018 04:57 PM

i watched about 20 mins and gave up, i thought it was crap

Tom4784 25-05-2018 02:36 PM

I watched the trailer and found Micheal C. Hall's attempt at an english accent distressing.

Shaun 25-05-2018 02:53 PM

Finished it.

Yeah that was crap.
