i've never really understood the purpose of resigning over a matter of principle in a democratic institution. It may provide 5 minutes of fame, but the underlying result is that they are enabling those that they disagree with

Because principles should always be principles.

...I don’t see it so much about any fame but more about not wanting to be a part of something you don’t believe in, I can completely relate to that...because it would jar with too much of who you were in your principles...and make you feel as though you had lost who you are...

all the more reason to stay and fight for what you do believe in. Running away I think is more defined as "nothing to do with me" and I do not admire that at all.

...he’s not able to prevent anything that’s happening atm though...it wouldn’t be energy well spent to stay, it would be pointless...he doesn’t need to ‘fight’ for his principles in that way, he owns them/they belong to him...he doesn’t need to be part of something he has no belief in...

He will fight in house of lords.
Government has collective responsibility so he cant be a part of that
