I'm in two minds about the spending promises. On the one hand, the North of England has been neglected for so long in favour of the South that it's LONG past due extra funding. On the other hand, I don't think "rewarding the people who voted you in" is how government spending should work. Once elected, the government needs to represent ALL of the public equally, whether they voted for them or not.

The visual metaphor of the stone won't be necessary, the tories will u turn, backtrack and extend the timescales on any promises made anyway.
