Shooting some dude sixty times is ridiculous, way overly excessive.

Slapping on a curfew is a good, gives some recourse against rioters.

the number of times that this armed criminal was shot to stop him from killing police officers is irrelevant

I don't care how many officers did it, it's not common for a Police officer to shoot a suspect 60 times, if you haven't detained someone after shooting them that many times then you're not cut out for the job imo.
