Sounds confusing - how are the riots and the escooter crash connected?

bots 23-05-2023 04:53 PM

so the police lied about only arriving after the accident had happened, and they were in fact following them when it happened

The police just get worse and worse

South Wales Police and Crime Commissioner Alun Michael declined to comment on social media footage appearing to show a police van following two people on either a moped or electric bike, apparently minutes before the crash.

He said: "You should examine the carefully-worded statement from the chief superintendent."

Although a Police Van was following
the Electric Scooter.

But in the Crash
the 2 lads hit a Car

Police were not with them
as the died in a crash with a car

Why lie about it if you’ve got nothing to hide

they were following them, they couldn't be more involved, and they said they only turned up later. That is a lie

This is very complicated because the idea is that the crash occurred because they were being followed and they would otherwise have been riding around carefully and the crash wouldn't have happened, rather than that they were being followed by police because they were already riding around thrillseeking/dangerously and an accident happening was already a high risk ...

As tragic as it is for young people to lose their lives like this, I think the latter seems probable, and they weren't out collecting groceries for elderly people on the scooter.

IMO the message needs to be clear; these kids lost their lives because they were joyriding around in a dangerous manner and their lives were at risk the moment they stepped onto the e-scooter with the intention of using it like a fairground ride. Because kids are currently doing that up and down the country, and more are going to be hurt/killed. The idea that "they would have been fine if the police had just left them to it!" is really worrying and dangerous. It might prompt hesitance in officers to stop other kids they see doing the same thing and turn a blind eye, which will result in more accidents, not fewer.

Not sure it was a scooter. I believe it was an E-bike.

If they're getting chased by the Police, then they should pull over, it's as simple as that. If you run from the Police, they're gonna chase you.

While it's tragic that they lost their lives, you can't blame anyone but themselves. If you play with feathers, you're gonna get your arse tickled.

As recent riots taught us, no matter what crimes someone was committing at the time, dying as a consequence is always the police's fault, and always justifies riots.

Cherie 24-05-2023 01:16 PM

I literally hate it when they put things like this down to kids living in deprived areas... there are many kids from deprived areas who do not cause issues for the general public

Cherie 24-05-2023 02:03 PM

Also I have no idea what the police following were thinking saying they were not involved  how stupid to think there would be no video evidence, and finally setting fire to peoples hard earned cars in a deprived area does not see like much of a stance to me

bots 24-05-2023 02:11 PM

it's a mess, of course the police have to maintain law and order on the road and it can be a tricky balancing act between getting involved in a chase, but they should have come clean about the vans presence. The blanket denial just makes them look really bad
