Is it Pointless…?….
 

…I’m thinking that I might try to put together a little one off mixture of utterly Pointless type questions to see if we can get some zero scores happening…if anyone is up for that…?…I’m just trying to put together questions now as I have around 18 atm but I think it needs more to make it last more than 5 minutes to complete…

…I should say also that the reason why it’s best to do Pointless as a stand alone quiz game as opposed to using the Top Answer questions as we’ve done previously…is that those questions aren’t always compatible in that they can lead to so many possible correct answers which is very difficult to research the sometimes obscure when scoring etc…so keeping the questions to more limited answers being correct is a good plan…I think we commented on that after the last one…anyway, if there is enough interest to become Pointless then I’ll see how many I can come up with in just one multiple themed round…

Yeah I'd definitely be up for that and you're right Pointless doesn't go so well with Top Answers because the questions a lot of times can have pretty infinite Pointless answers

…yeah, that’s what we said a few times…I guess that it’s a good option for a lazy way of doing it and letting the Top Answer host think up the questions …but they’re not hugely compatible always…and that can also lead to answers being queried as to whether they’re exactly correct, you know…it’s good to have them where there’s a good possibility of duplicates but just trying to avoid those as much as possible for the lowest score…

Yeah, I never would have wanted to be the person scoring Pointless when it was running with the Top Answer questions :laugh:

…I can’t promise a political/election free game, though…we might explore those politics as well and bring them into chat and games…:laugh:…why should SD have all the fun…?…that’s just greedy…

Won't the tactics just be to go for the most obvious answer, believing that it will be pointless because nobody will go for that. Making it pointless?

Neems top answers game is a better format for a forum game.

…there shouldn’t be obvious answers so much in having the game as a stand alone because that’s one of the things that didn’t work and adapt so well in using the same questions as Top Answers…if a choice was of three possibilities for instance …there wouldn’t be a more popular answer over another is what I’m aiming for…I can’t say how well it will all work because this is a first in doing it this way and not gearing to ‘popular answers’…so we’ll see from this time, how pointless it is to be Pointless…

If the question was. Name an English football team with "United" in there name?

If you're going for a pointless answer, most people would go for teams like Southend, Torquay or Colchester. Whereas I would go for Manchester, believing nobody else would go for that.

That's the type of game you will get.
