I didn\'t know that
Anyone else just see the HMs talking about eggs?
Sorry if I am the dumbest person ever but I had no idea that the eggs we eat wouldn't grow into chicks if we hadn't eaten them. Am I the only person that didn't know that? |
oh my god you cant be serious ? where the **** do you think chicks come from? are you trying to act like the twins or something?
what do you mean? so when eggs come out if you leave them they will turn into chicks? i thought because there away from the chicken they cant hatch?
They need to be fertilized.
The eggs you buy from the supermarket are not fertilised therefore will not hatch into an chick. It's something like that anyway.
yep i knew they wouldnt hatch !
OMG I've always wondered about that, I thought They could still hatch thats why I don't eat eggs x

I am sure you are not the only one. I would bet many just would not have the nerve to ask in case some inconsiderate person lashed out with insults.......Never be put off asking a question. |
I never knew that either and its not dumb.. its not exactly something that comes up in everyday conversation though really.. so if your not told, you wont know :spin2: hehe!
This is not as daft as it sounds, as there have been rare cases where fertilised eggs did slip through, and were successfully hatched.

Most of our eggs tend to come from caged birds, who have never been near a cockerel, so the eggs will not be fertilised. There is no chicken in the egg.
In order for the eggs to be capable of bringing forth a chicken, then the hen will have to be mated with the cockerel before any egg is laid. For the record I got a CSE Grade one in environmental science which had a heavy element of farming. |
