I sponsored myself to go the chippy and get some food, I won a bag of chips and a rissole :dance2:

Locke. 26-09-2008 04:46 PM

Supposed to do one about 2 years ago but just didn't ask people to sponsor me so there wasn't much point doing the walk, so I didn't.

Ninastar 26-09-2008 04:47 PM

lmao awww ross . omg does anyone know a cure of this hellish pain? x

Conor 26-09-2008 04:47 PM

Our school does 1 every 2 years so I've done 2 now. But I do alot of athletics training so im used to it lol

pinkmichk 26-09-2008 04:48 PM

i did the race for life last year (5k) but i stupidly put brand new trainers on just before so could barely walk by the end
get a bucket or similar with cold water in and put your feet in that for a bit then use it as a good excuse to put your feet up
well done for doing it though what was the cause you did it for?

omg same! how long is yours ? x

Lauren 26-09-2008 04:48 PM

Haha no, but, once....

Me and my friend were bored at her house and we went for a walk. If anyone knows the North-East... I ended up walking from Chester-Le-Street -> Gateshead.

Like 7 hours. In the rain. With painful shoes on.

Highlight: I met Peter Vardy and asked him directions whilst he was standing with the press outside his faith school. WOOP.

GhettoSuperstar 26-09-2008 04:49 PM

Toned legs! What more to ask for!

We used to have to do one every year at senior school, think it was about 5 miles with everyone crammed onto the local athletics track. We either did it in the pouring rain or boiling heat, not sure which was worse.

Tom 26-09-2008 05:06 PM

ICE BATH

They're awful, YES I HAVE HAD ONE.

We used to have to do them all the time though, round the back of school, right down the motorway, over the bridge then round back to school either the long way or back down the motorway. It took about half an hour, but everyone used to walk and just kind of run when we were going past school which was part of the motorway :dance2:

That was in PE though

Never done another one, well did in primary 10 laps of a massive field which took about 20 minutes to do 1 lap, and we had paper on our backs and had to get a X from someone as we did each lap but my mates mum used to do some of the marking because there was so many people, she used to mark 2 at a time for people she knew/liked

Shaun 26-09-2008 05:06 PM

I did a fun-run for charity once :) but it was only 4 miles, lol...I was 10...

Ok I edited the topic to ask a question...

Ok right my legs are still quite sore from yesterday but does that mean i am unfit?
My mum says i am because my legs are still sore and my sisters arent. they had bloody less to carry and every one else in the bloody schools legs are sore too but surely were not all unfit???

Help please x

Annie 27-09-2008 11:15 AM

It just means you have worked your muscles and they are getting stronger.
Every time you do exercise it will hurt less. That doesnt mean you are unfit at all. Just means you aint done much exercise in a while.

It's good sign.
When I went to my local gym my personal trainer told me that if my legs didn't hurt by the end then I wasn't doing a good enough job.

The pain means your muscles have been worked = you'll get more toned legs.

Keep doing it and eventually they will stop hurting, and you'll have long pinsssss.

Ninastar 27-09-2008 11:21 AM

Aww ok thanks annie and lauren!!! x i feel alot better now. x
