I just find it difficult to start going there on here out of fear that it might sounds like I am agreeing with Trutho, which I am not, because in his hatred of feminism Truth veers strongly into misogyny.

Essentially what I think about feminism is quite easily summed up; if you seek equality with the average western male... For **** sake... Aim a little higher! I can just imagine the end result of feminism being like "Hooray! We did it! True gender equality. Hey wait a minute, this is still crap???"

Gender politics, race politics, right/left politics, all battlegrounds designed to stop the average person focusing on true human equality. Busy worker bees buzzing about things that the true people in power (hint: penis irrelevant), honestly, don't give a **** about, so long as we don't start buzzing at them.

I find the word "feminism" to be unhelpfully divisive to the point that I sometimes suspect it was specifically designed to be that way. A loaded word that supposedly pursues equality. It's a paradox.
Interesting post, definitely food for thought in there. I do think quite clearly there was an absolute need for a "feminist" movement, we were genuinely treated like second class citizens in the past and that's still happening in other cultures/countries too.

I do get you point about Western society now though and more and more believe that we are all looking in the wrong direction, all of us, fighting amongst ourselves while the big corporations and top of the pile rub their hands in glee and laugh
