But Jermaine Pennant and his wife Alice Goodwin seemed unperturbed by the photos of him with the kidnap model, as they put on a united display at the Gloves Off movie premiere on Wednesday.
The former Liverpool ace, 35, and his glamour model spouse of four years, 32, appeared to have put the controversy behind them as they smiled defiantly at the event in London's Leicester Square.
