But the main point was not to assume what the person's intentions are or what the relationship is/was like.

I also disagree that people cheat with the INTENT to hurt their partner. It's going to hurt their partner, but the cheater usually has mixed emotions between two different people and does it selfishly for themselves, but not with the purpose to hurt their significant other. The purpose is not knowing what they truly want orrr just not caring, the latter being the worse reasoning but still a fairly common mindset you see in this generation's dating/love life. Not championing that mindset but that's just the truth these days Like I said, under normal circumstances it's a poor act to make in a relationship but no one really knows what's really going on in that relationship or just how bad it really was or the full reasoning. Either way, a bad act doesn't always/automatically make a bad person, that's where a lot of people here are jumping the gun.
