Widespread entitlement, self-centredness and hyperindividualism are (ironically, given that these people are so often described as leftists) the
inevitable outcomes of late-stage capitalism and consumerism. These mindsets didn't spring up out of thin air they were cultivated over decades ... just with some unexpected and unintended side effects.
