NHS staff were used as an idol, a crutch and then swiftly when it was convenient, became a scapegoat. It's disgusting behaviour from the British public and not something to be fondly remembered. Shameful.

I think the idea came from a good place!
It was to show that we all recognised what they were doing for the country
We all thought we were gonna die ( the daily updates on the death toll wasn’t helpful)
Plus the NHS folk were seen as being on the front line and so at even more risk . They were risking their lives each day when the vast majority were on a long term , fully paid jolly in the good old British sunshine !!
I worked all through the covid years and each working day I felt nauseous through fear
