I think you think too much and expect to much of us. And you underestimate every other nation.

International football isn't the same as league football. You're playing against the best 11 players of each country. And they're good players who know how to compete. It's tough.

We have never been close to being one of the best technical sides. English style has never been that way.

Some of the teams you come up against at this level can keep the ball and starve you of possession if you let them have the ball easily. I think that's the thinking behind Southgates tactics. Try and starve your opponents of possession so it lesens the damage they can do to you.

Also, a lot of team's we've come up against so far see England as a big football nation, that alone makes them raise their game and they also get men behind the ball to make it hard for us to break them down.

Maybe a team like Holland (certainly Spain or France) will play more open and give our players a bit more space in behind and we'll see a better spectacle.
