Well if you have ever been in a Syrian, afgahnis, Iranian, etc etc, house. You will know that they are 100 times more likely to be adorning their walls with flags and tapestries of their nations colours than any brit is likely to do.
That is from my 10 years experience of entering houses of brits, and non british households over the years..
I never hear you refer to those people as flaghumpers etc.
