This is why people like farage end up being successful
I don't hold with your pessimism of what this Labour government may not be successful in.
I really am disappointed with and disillusioned by the start they've done on a few things.
However not all.

I do however see your points as to any real change plus also the spin element too.

I still hold hope in those who don't vote and it's still why I support PR for elections.
We had Farage and his divisive lot crowing Reform was ahead of the Cons and rising during the election.
Yet it was utter nonsense, his lot were 10% behind the Conservatives on voting day.
Plus 40% didn't even vote so they felt no enthusiasm for Farage and Reform.
Plus so many I talked to when campaigning, who don't vote.
The issues they were concerned about were the NHS, and cost of living.
Nothing if the harder uncompromising more right wing divisive stuff.

Anyhow, a long, long way to go to the next election.
It does not need to be until August 2029.
It won't be any earlier unless it looks like the government would win.

No one has any real idea of where the economic situation will really be by then, or what success or failure the government has had happen.
I still believe PR, will be a way forward and start to realise change
Plus I still believe that it would never hopefully or likely be the case, anywhere up to 50% of voters would support the destructive, divisive rhetoric of Farage and his lot.
No matter what unfurls meantime under this current unrepresentative electoral system over the next 4 and a half years.

Reform are building power day by day.

Would not surprise me one bit if Nigel becomes PM in a few years time.

I think you're a bit naive

Yes arista.
I do expect a run for Reform in the council elections..
Much as was the case in the last European elections held in the UK.
I think Labour will lose a significant number of seats.

Very low turnout in council elections may help Reform too
I'll hope however it's short lived as to any success.

Yes,
many are saying the same.

I think it is also possible they add a 6th MP
around that time.
Or just before it.

I doubt he could become PM

By that time the Conservatives
may have changed their leader.

Default Daily Telegraph today

Nigel Farage stood down hundred of Brexit candidates in Tory seats in 2019 and
delivered Boris the biggest Tory win since Margaret Thatcher. The Tories were
astonishingly ungrateful and betrayed their Brexit promises and their own
manifesto. They kept Britain in the EU’s clutches and instigated mass
immigration on a scale never seen in British history. They introduced the
highest tax burden in modern times and pursued Net Zero and woke policies
while careering from one failed leader to the next. Voters don’t like them and
don’t trust them and Farage will never do a deal with them. Instead he will
replace them.

I mean if it was the media in general (as it usually is) then there'd be a point but kicking off that a news channel built to pander to flagwanking braindead brexit morons is favouring a political party built on a membership of flagwanking braindead brexit morons is a bit odd.

It's a fair comment to point out that GB News is a propaganda channel but it's not exactly brand new information? It's never been anything else.

Reform ‘gains 20,000 members’ since Badenoch ‘fakery’ row

Party insiders claim clash with Tory leader has contributed to spike in sign-ups

Reform’s online membership tracker on Sunday showed that the party had
more than 152,000 signed-up grassroots supporters.

It comes after a major poll released on Sunday showed that Reform is on
course for a major parliamentary breakthrough at the next election, winning 71
MPs.

It would take more than some unfavourable polls and membership surges to make Labour call another election.

In fact, these polls make it more unlikely they'd call one. Why would they?

Reform just six points off becoming biggest party, says election predictor

Electoral Calculus analysis shows Nigel Farage’s party could leapfrog both
Conservatives and Labour if it continues to pick up support

If the party reached 28 per cent of the popular vote at an election, it would
likely become the largest force in the House of Commons, though short of an
overall majority.

On current polling trends, Reform would reach this threshold within six
months if it continues to pick up support at the current rate.

With 31 per cent of the vote, Reform would win a majority, making Mr Farage prime minister.
