The REALLY long series mid-original-run (the ones that went for like 3 months lol) were fascinating specifically because you got the see the "polite early phase", the "high-octane mid phase" and then the war-weary slog of the last few weeks. It was great  . |
Yeah, unfortunately I don't think a lot of people these days (not the newer viewers they're trying to pull in anyway) have the attention span and patience for that true social experiment style anymore (social media side effect of instant gratification partly I suppose and the way the more scripted "Reality" shows took over)
