Or they could do vote to evict, but have a couple of 'Cull the Dull' evictions in the series where viewers vote to save.

But when the massive characters go, it completely changes the house dynamics and more often than not someone steps into the new 'hate' role or something big happens anyway. The only real exception to that is BB8 which was rubbish anyway.
