It's not the same high though. Not the same feeling. That's a fact. Chemical nuances aside they are completely different. I have tried my hand at gym work and have popped E's. The two are not even comparable. I don't see thousands of clubbers getting f
ucked up by doing some gym work before crossing the street to go to a rave.
It's like saying the high from THC and a bar of chocolate are simmilar because of simmilar brain mechanisms. Or the high from Crack is the same as the high from having a wank because they both flood your brain with endorphins and dopamine.
