Now it's not a 'changing story' but instead some situation where you seem to be surprised a story was told.
Let's look at this 'surprise mention of something' and see if there is a real problem.

Years ago David watches BB9 and finds Rachel 'not exciting'.
OK.
A year later David meets Rachel in a pub or Tesco's or somewhere.
OK.
So far so good yes?
David remembers meeting her. She is the winner of BB9 and famous.
OK. makes sense yes? Okay good.
Rachel does not remember meeting David. He was not famous. She has thousands of people meet her in after her win.
OK. Easy. Happens all the time in life.

Now a year later David is actually IN Big Brother himself!
OK.
Now people are funny. When they are in Big Brother and having conversations with people in Big Brother they may find themselves discussing.. Big Brother things!
They also may do something we call 'comparing'. They compare their season to previous seasons.
This is strange but true and happens to nearly everyone.
OK.
At some point in a conversation David offers his opinion that his season's people are 'more exciting than Rachel Rice'.
No problem.
It's true this was his opinion and 'perception' of the people.

David also mentions he met Rachel Rice. It's not necessary for him to mention this,
but,
It was something 'related' to the conversation and perhaps someone else in the group may hear it and share some meetings they had with either Rachel or other BB people.
This is interesting to the HMs who enjoy and learn and exchange ideas by this way of 'discussing' and 'remembering people' and 'sharing experiences'.

How is ANY of this confusing or surprising or unusual to you?
Where do you see any sort of 'logical contradiction' to ANYTHING we have in that scenario?

Also, you say that Rachel may have lied. But sorry to go personal here, but isn't Rachel your favorite housemate of all time?
Yes, Rachel Rice is one of my all-time favourite BB contestants.

What you did was wrongly suppose that someone had to be 'lying'.
I disagree,
but,
even if we did suppose one of them had to be lying then it could be either David OR Rachel.
From a 'logical' pov which is what you took. You gave a 'logical sequence' and a 'therefore'.

I have a question though..

Do you find many many things in life seem to 'make no sense'?
Do you find many people in your life are constantly saying things which seem 'weird' or 'senseless'?
Do you find people's choices often seem baffling or inexplicable to your eyes?
On a daily basis.
Do you see that most people, most times are saying and doing things that are totally senseless and strange in ways you don't understand at all or attribute to some motives they don't want to admit to?
