A lot of it is to do with demographics. Most people who admit they're gay are below about 25-30 and the vast majority of the population are well over that age
It might seem alien to us, but go and ask a 60 year old who will probably say that sounds about right
This forum is no indication either, BB is a show watched mainly by gays and girls
