Something like this happened to me before, Me and a friend found a dog tied up to a tree in the middle of some woods freezing. So we tried to let it lose and take it home with us so we could get help for it. It was aggresive at first when we went near it probably because it was scared so we just sat with it for a bit and it got okay with us. Anyway I managed to get it untied from the tree then my friend moved too sudden and crapped the dog up so it just shot off, probably back to its owner. Still its better than it tied up there where it'd probably would have died. :/

yeah, I can't understand why if they don't want to or can't look after the dog anymore they don't just bring it in to an animal shelter
