Channel adverts don't usually affect commercial adverts. I was watching Channel 5 a few weeks ago and there was a period of around an hour in the evening where they didn't air one commercial advert

Why? A large amount of people don't know that Big Brother has moved to another channel. They need to start getting the word out.

As has been said, Sky have the right idea with Glee. FOX is another example - they've been promoting X Factor USA since last September, a whole year in advance!
