I took taxing it insanely into account when I said "even with tax it's a filth cheap crop to produce". Cannabis in a tolerated marketplace would be either cheaper or roughly the same price as it would be in it's current position of trade. You can get better quality, cheaper dope in countries where it's sale is permitted than what you can get in the U.K.

And even if people grow it loads and loads you make it sound as if it's difficult to make money off Cannabis. The government already make dough off it from taxed, legal seeds. You could introduce a card/license system you have to pay for in order to grow it.

You would still see millions and millions anyway being made from those who would rather just purchase it from vendors. And that's not even going into the money the government would save not playing this endless, fruitless game of chase with the drug and it's use. The negating the need for human trafficking, theft of electricity, destruction of homes, hijacking of neighbourhoods by violent gangs etc that all come along with criminal grow ops.
