So.............Battle Royale happened to be on TV last night, out of curiosity I decided to watch. As much as I adore The Hunger Games, the similarity of the games themselves are a bit too close for comfort, in fact it's a complete rip off, I'm not even sure how Suzanne Collins wasn't sued or something for stealing the idea
The film itself I thought was crap, the story as to why they even have the games seemed a little flimsy, the deaths were more comical than disturbing, the characters weren't that likeable and I didn't have much empathy for them, I didn't really care if they all died or not.
So yeah, I agree Suzanne Collins completely stole the story but I think she improved it
