I've a very funny feeling the producers themselves are alot more lenient and speak to the housemates FAR MORE than we know, infact I'm almost certain.

I think this has been the case since Ultimate Big Brother actually.

Any series Pre BB9, they couldn't do it because of the live streaming and the fact the housemates would obviously discuss DR entries.
Big Brother 10, I know they didn't - Marcus himself told me that, the producers virtually neglected the housemates that year, but then again that was obvious just from watching it.

Series 11, they couldn't do it due to the live streaming - with Ultimate Big Brother, they did, but it wasn't that big a deal - due to it all seeming alot more commercial and fake, as in the housemates have been there and done it before so know the producers fairly well already.

Channel 5 is a different story, I'm convinced the producers themselves don't address themselves as 'Big Brother' the majority of the time - the rules (for the staff) back in 2005 for example, involved Big Brother not being able to address housemates out of the Diary Room, not being able to speak in an informal manner and forming absolutely no personal relationship with individual housemates.

It's unbelievably clear (especially this year with live feed at nights) that far more is being said in the Diary Room than we actually know.
