Mixed feelings about this to be honest , don't think the soldiers should have been charged with murder I mean ffs they are fighting a bloody war against these people, this wounded Taliban man would have no hesitation if the tables were reversed in killing beheading and dismembering this soldier in a heartbeat.
So why are we coming over all bleeding shocked at this soldiers actions. He has probably seen his best friends blown to pieces in front of him he is probably in a constant state of PTSD his mental state is questionable , I agree he should not have shot the man BUT under the circumstances to call it murder on par with a civilian murder charge is plain nonsense.
This Soldier has made a mistake induced by the Fog of war, I'm sure it happens a lot but this incident was recorded and reported.
I hope this man is discharged from the Army and given the psychiatric treatment he needs and if he is jailed over this incident I hope it is no more than a few years at most.
Let's stop pandering to the bleeding hearts brigade ....!!!!
