Yes some people can have it really bad to the point where it takes over their entire life, one of my sisters has really severe OCD she is affected by about 4 of the main categories and she has stages where she can control it pretty well then other times it spirals, she was an anorexic for years and then bulimic and having those illnesses together with bad OCD is just a recipe for disaster because they bounce off of each other and make things 10X worse.

I only have Symmetry OCD and it is very mild compared to most people that suffer with it.
