I think Helen is such a big character (as well as a bitch) that it's easier to be friends (for sanity sake) than to be at a constant loggerheads with her.

It takes far more energy to hold a grudge and dislike someone than it is to make peace.

I can understand why she's done it and I agree that some of the housemates are a let down, some are weak, some have no balls, it's a shame as Helen's character has stifled the others personalities.
