So yeah, you either get that some people might take offense even if you don't mean to cause offense - or you don't.
Social interactions can sometimes require a bit of finesse and most people can do with a bit of refining in certain situations. If you aren't capable of coping diplomatically with people who may be sensitive to certain things, then so be it.

So let's compare the finesse of gary with the finesse of other housemates.
Gary says "what" and "shush" and "you aren't making sense".
The other housemates say to, or about, gary "I'm not here to babysit", "that's what you get for being an arsehole", "if only we had learned sign language", "Im glad the 2 freakos are outside" etc etc.
Do you see the huge gulf between them?
