Nah, it was still impactful. The actual moment of coming out to these people that knew him as a straight guy, and their reaction to it, etc. could have been very inspiring to so many people.
I don't think those were his intentions anyway (at least not his main ones compared to wanting to win) but to say its doubtful to have an impact on gays or others, seeing that kind of moment, I disagree with completely.
